PLANNING CONSULTANT

 

What will the role of Planning Consultant entail?

As a Planning Consultant, you will utilise your technical planning knowledge, gained through your degree studies and proven experience within the sector, to undertake the production of project documents and manage planning schemes to the highest standard in accordance with project timescales in relation to planning applications, planning policy analysis, planning appeals / public inquiries, and any other planning work as required.

You’ll work on various projects reporting to the Company Director, from planning applications and appeals, to land availability assessments, sustainability appraisals and strategic environmental assessments, and providing other technical planning expertise to projects and proposals. The role will also involve co-ordinating and managing sub-consultants.

You’ll play an active supporting role in attracting new clients & proposals, and engaging in effective planning marketing activities for the firm.

What will I need in order to be considered for this Planning Consultant role?

●        An RTPI accredited degree in town planning, environmental planning or equivalent

●        Knowledge of national and local authority planning policies and of the planning system

●        Sector experience in an equivalent role

●        Good self-management, time-management, and project management skills

●        Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal

●        Full UK driving licence

Although not essential, being a Fully Chartered or Licentiate Member of the RTPI or RICS, or the ability to embark on the path to Chartership would be highly advantageous for this role.

The ability to speak, read, and write Welsh, whilst not essential, is also desirable for this role.

What will I receive in return?

As a Planning Consultant, you’ll receive a salary in the region of £27,500 to £35,000, level dependent on experience and qualifications, although there may be room for negotiation for those with significant experience or Chartered status.

You will also receive a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave entitlement that grows with length of service, and a company performance-based bonus following first year of employment. We offer roles as hybrid or office based, with a minimum of 1-day per week required to be in office.

You’ll be employed on a permanent, full-time contract (although we will consider part-time working for the right candidate), and dependent on your preference will be based at either the office in Anglesey or Colwyn Bay. Travel will be required across the region.

PLANNING ASSISTANT

What will the role of Planning Assistant entail?

As a Planning Assistant, you will utilise your technical planning knowledge, either gained through your degree studies or proven experience within the sector, to undertake the production of project documents and manage planning schemes in accordance with project timescales in relation to planning applications, planning policy analysis, inputting into planning appeals / public inquiries, and any other planning work as required.

You will work on various projects alongside a lead Planning Consultant, from planning applications and appeals, to land availability assessments, sustainability appraisals and strategic environmental assessments, and providing other technical planning expertise to projects and proposals. The role will also involve co-ordinating and managing sub-consultants.

What will I need in order to be considered for this Planning Consultant role?

●        An RTPI accredited degree in town planning, environmental planning, or equivalent
