Farm Diversification project completed

Owen Devenport successfully bid to Llwyddo Yng Ngwynedd to prepare a brochure and website aimed at assisting Gwynedd farmers to diversify. The aim was to cover all the aspects of considering a diversification project, such as funding, financial advice, planning issues, business planning and training. A comprehensive analysis was carried out of all these issues with extensive interviews with all parties concerned. Case Studies were also identified and set out in the brochure as a guide to the pitfalls and successes of existing diversification projects.

A high quality bi-lingual brochure was produced (Breaking Down The Barriers/Torri i Lawr y Rhwystrau) as part of the remit and a website was set up (www.gwyneddfarmers.co.uk) for those farm businesses who preferred electronic communication. The whole scheme was launched at an official open evening in Porthmadog, also arranged through Owen Devenport, and it was hailed a huge success with dozens of farming businesses in attendance and receiving free advice throughout the evening. A number of projects have since been assessed and Owen Devenport have advised on planning matters.
